South Carolina SSB Net

45th Anniversary

I wish to extend special recognition to the South Carolina Sideband Net which celebrated its 45th anniversary of service to South Carolina citizens and the amateur radio community.  The 45th anniversary net was held on Monday, April 7th at 1900 EDT (2300z) on 3915 kHz, and there were an unprecedented 140 check-ins! Special thanks to Dave Sumner K1ZZ and Dan Miller K3UFG from ARRL HQ who checked in from Connecticut!

The SC SSB net was honored by a special recognition certificate from the ARRL which can be viewed HERE .  Steve Ewald, W1VX of the ARRL HQ Field Services Department will also be honoring the net by adding a sidebar article to QST about the net  in an upcoming issue.

As SC Section Manager, I applaud the net for all it has done for the service it provides to South Carolina and the fellowship provided to all of its members.  It has brought many of the hams in South Carolina together, and I am very appreciative of all the friends I have met through that fellowship!
