On March 27, 2004 , Florence County ARES
provided communications for the McLeod Sports Medicine's 10K/5K Run/Walk.
They provided communications between the water stations, sweep vehicles, and
a shadow for the director. Thanks to Mac Cullom, K4AVR, and wife Suzie,
KG4YVK, for bringing their RV and using it as a net control station. Mike
Duff, KG4SLH, Assistant PIC set up an amateur radio display-- complete with
a TV showing the amateur radio video-- in front of the RV. The new FARC
banner looks good too. Thanks Mike!
The Florence club and Florence ARES will be
using Mac's "net control RV" again at the Mayfly show on May 1st and 2nd.
Bobby Collins, KG4BZK, Florence EC reports good response to the request for
volunteer help, but still more are needed. Please, contact him if you would

This is a really fun event for all participants who are involved!
